Text to 9-1-1 Services

Call if you can, but text if you can’t call!

Many people do not know that the capability to text 9-1-1 exists. Text to 9-1-1- is a service that allows citizens to send a text message diectly to 9-1-1 for assistance in the event they are unable to make a voice call.  Simply send a text as you would normally.  In the recipient field enter 911, compose the message, and push send.  If you would like more information about Text-to 9-1-1, please contact Jill Blackshear, Communications Supervisor with the Crane Police Department at 432-558-2212 or email at jblackshear@crane.texas.gov.  You can also visit the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission website at www.pbrpc.org.

Neighborhood Crime Watch Program

Neighborhood Crime Watch Programs are designed to target property crimes including burglaries, thefts, and vandalism. It is not intended as a citizen patrol.

The purpose of the Neighborhood Crime Watch Program is to encourage community involvement in the reduction of crime by citizens reporting criminal or suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles in the neighborhood.

The benefits of a Neighborhood Crime Watch Program include a greater sense of security, well-being, and reduction in crime.
